How to set up your Deliveroo tablet

Learn how to set up your Deliveroo tablet for Deliveroo to start receiving orders and grow your store.

Think of your tablet as your gateway to a world of potential. It’s what connects your restaurant to hundreds, to thousands of hungry customers in your area. Whether they’re busy at work or having a cosy night in, people aren’t always able to dine-in but that shouldn't stop them from being able to enjoy your delicious dishes.

Sounds good right? Here’s how you can get set up and start receiving orders…

We’ll send your tablet in your Welcome Pack once you've signed up.

First you’ll need to make sure you’ve correctly inserted your printer roll into the device. You can do this by opening the flap at the top by pulling it gently, inserting the roll into the slot and then closing the flap.

Now, it’s time to activate your tablet! Start by pressing the power button (it’s the smaller one on the side), the screen should then turn on giving you the option to select your language and time zone.

As with most technology, you’ll need to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. If you have any issues make sure to check out our guide to solving connectivity problems.

Once you're connected to Wi-Fi you should get a prompt to ‘Start configuration’ - confirm and wait until the installation is 100% complete.

When the installation is complete, open up Settings, select Bluetooth and switch the toggle to on. Your tablet will then automatically connect to its printer.

We strongly recommend using the integrated printer. It’s faster and easier to set up.

If you'd prefer to use a different printer - or have your device and printer in different locations - you can connect the Sunmi to any Bluetooth compatible printer. 

Go to device Settings and select Bluetooth

You'll see InnerPrinter - this is the integrated printer - under paired devices

Click the gear ⚙️ icon and select ‘FORGET’ to remove the integrated printer as your primary printer

Now find your bluetooth printer from the list of nearby devices - select the correct one and enter your password to pair the Sunmi and your external printer

How do I enable my tablet to receive orders?

With your tablet set-up it’s time to get ready to start receiving orders.

First things first, you’ll need to open the Deliveroo App on your tablet and sign in with your username and password. If you’re unsure or don’t know your login details yet check your emails, we’ll have sent this over to you.

Now you’re logged in you should see a pop-up asking you to enable Location and Call settings - go ahead and allow both.

To start receiving orders just select ‘Open for Orders’ - it’s that simple!

When you open your restaurant, you will be asked if you want to turn on auto-accept for the day. If you don’t choose to turn it on at the beginning of the day, you can always turn it on from Settings.

With auto-accept turned on, orders will be accepted automatically as they come in, you don’t need to do anything, except start preparing the order of course!

If you want to take more control of the orders that you accept you can instead choose to “accept manually” at the beginning of the day. If you’ve already selected auto-accept you can easily turn it off from the Settings panel.

If you choose to accept orders manually, you’ll need to select ‘accept order’ on your tablet. It’s good practice to make sure you designate someone on shift to keep an eye on the tablet as you’ll only have 10 minutes to accept the order.

How do I review my Opening Hours and availability?

You can also set your business’s days off and check your Opening Hours on your tablet. 

To schedule Days Off on your tablet select the menu and then Days Off. To add new Days Off tap Add New, enter the start and end dates and tap save when you're finished. You can set your days off up to 365 days in advance.
