85% of Deliveroo customers said ‘Value for Money’ was important when choosing which restaurant to order from. But what is value for money? Our customers tell us that it means delivering an amazing experience at a fair price.

For this reason, we launched The Value Programme in the UK & Ireland to help customers find those restaurants offering amazing value for money, and to increase the sales of those restaurants through a number of benefits. It also looks to incentivise any restaurants that don’t improve their performance. 

To do this, each month, every restaurant on Deliveroo will earn a Value Score.

Your Value Score tells you whether or not your restaurant is offering great value for money.

Every month you will receive a Value Score of ‘Great’, ‘Good’, ‘Okay’, ‘Improve’ or ‘Action’ in Hub. Your score decides whether you will be able to access certain benefits on the Deliveroo app to help you reach new customers and grow your sales, or if limitations will be applied to your account.

Your score reflects the quality of the experience you provide to customers, taking into account Price, Service and Quality:

Nearly  1 in 3 consumers said they didn’t proceed with their order once spotting a price markup. Price mark-up is the percentage difference between what you charge on Deliveroo versus what you charge when customers dine in (where available). Service is made up of order related performance. This includes inaccurate orders, late prepared orders, rejected orders, and partner-driven cancellations.

How does the Value Programme benefit your restaurant?

Deliveroo helps customers find restaurants that provide the best value for money, amazing experiences at a fair price.

By scoring ‘Great’ or ‘Good’, you can unlock extra benefits designed to drive customers to your restaurant such as: featuring in a promotional Marketing Carousel in-App, access to Deliveroo funded offers and more.

Achieve a value score of Good and receive the following benefits*

Priority in Value Carousels - highlighting best value sites where sites meet the criteria for those carousels.

Deliveroo funded Marketer Offers (up to twice a month) - eligible for our Tasty Thursday Marketer Offer, fully funded by Deliveroo for up to two weeks per month whilst the site keeps a ‘Good’ Value Score. You’ll need to opt-in to the Tasty Thursday Offer to access this funding by following these steps. Marketer Offers are subject to the Marketer Terms & Conditions.

Priority in Offers Carousel - feature higher in the ‘Offers near you’ carousel than other sites.

Value tags - generated by customers who are asked to provide them post order. They appear across our platform where enough orders from that site have been tagged.

Achieve a value score of Great and receive the following benefits*

Deliveroo’s Choice - Sites will automatically be included in the Deliveroo’s Choice programme. Deliveroo’s Choice and qualifying sites will be highlighted at multiple places across the platform, via Deliveroo’s Choice badge and new pop-ups.

Redirective Merchandising - automatically included in a new carousel highlighting other restaurants which offer value.

Deliveroo funded Marketer Offers (weekly) - eligible for our Tasty Thursday Marketer Offer, fully funded by Deliveroo for each week the site keeps a ‘Great’ Value Score. You’ll need to opt-in to the Tasty Thursday Offer to access this funding by following these steps. Marketer Offers are subjection to the Marketer Terms & Conditions.

*We’ll be working to improve each Benefit over time, so badge, tag and carousel designs and placement and other features may change.

What happens if your score is ‘Action’ or ‘Improve’?

If your restaurant receives a Value Score of either Action or Improve you will lose access to certain features on the Deliveroo app and in some cases, where there is consistently no sign of improvement, you could find your restaurant at risk of suspension from the app.

We’re doing this to incentivise our restaurant partners to benefit from achieving a high Value Score and to ensure customers receive a great value for money experience.
